| Brief history of the Organization: |
Since 1989 Pabna Protishruti (PP) is working on the peopleˇ¦s need and social responsibility, group formation, raising awareness, skillful training, health care and sanitation, good governance, social gender justice and popular theater, credit for employment creation etc. From 1993 ˇ§PPˇ¨ has been involved in institution buildings programs, grass roots occupation and micro credit and inters group structure for empowerment of economic development and participation on policy decision making process that effecting their life. Some rights based program are being implementing by Pabna Protishruti for last couple of years. Now it is implementing a rights based program in Pabna Sadar titled ˇ§Gender and Social justice Programˇ¨ with the assistant of Ain O Shalish Kendra and same is very consistent with the present project. |
| Project Objective: |
i)To enhance access to justice particularly for the poor, disadvantaged and socially excluded women by activating Village Courts and Arbitration Councils as a speedy and less expensive dispute resolve mechanism:
ii To Increase uses of Govt. legal Aid Fund (GLAF) by referring the poor, disadvantaged and socially excluded people.

„X Village court and Arbitration Council will be activated in 16 Unions of 2 Upazillas of Pabna District.
„X AC will deal at least 75% polygamy, maintenance and divorce issues of the working area according to provisions.
„X It is expected that substantial volume of cases and disputes will be settled at the village courts level reducing congestion in the traditional court in one hand and will contribute largely in ensuring peace and harmony in society on the other.
„X Linkage between VC and DLAC will be established through referral of the cases
„X Utilization of govt. legal aid fund will be increased up to 50%

| Major Activity: |
Convening meeting with UP Chairmen, Members (both male and female), local elites, civil society members, Imam, members of the local Bar, a number of Government officials, citizens group;
Referring targeted primary stakeholders (poor, disadvantaged and socially excluded men, women as well as children) to the concern Ups for resolving their disputes as mandated under Village Court Act-2006, Muslim Family Law Ordinance-1961.
Provide necessary technical support to the village Court and Arbitration Council responsive and activated (e.g. how to deliver judgment, issue summons, examine witness, do documentation, disposal of a case etc).
Referring primary stakeholders to the District Legal Aid Committee (DLAC) for further legal redress in the formal courts if they fail to resolve their disputes in local level.
