| Brief history of the Organization: |
Society for Voluntary Activities (SOVA) a non profit, non political and non government organisation (NGO) has been working in Jhenaidah district in 1998. Since its formation it has been working in the field of IGA, Sanitation and Non-formal pre primary education for the upliftment of underprivileged and disadvantaged people of urban & rural areas with special emphasis of women, children & disabled. The goal of the organization is to improve the socio-economic condition of the disadvantage & underprivileged people of the society by creating awareness and undertaken various development activities. |
| Project Objective: |
* Creating social awareness among the targeted groups about the risk factors of suicide and violence against women.
* Strengthening the role of different committees for preventing and protecting violence against woment and suicide from family and society.
* Mobilizing local level organizations to be more concern and responsive to the suicide victims, women and children. |
| Expected Outcome: |
- Develop awareness among the 70%community people on risk factors of suicide and violence against women.
- 80% Different committee members has been played strong role to prevent and protect VAW and suicide from family and society.
- 60%Local level organizations are more concern and responsive to stop the violence against women and children and domestic violence. |

The prime goal of the project is to reduce suicidal cases and violence against women from the family and society. |
| Major Activity: |
Formation and strengthen women suicide prevention committee, village dispute resolution committee, union committee and district committee.
Counselling and medical support provide to the suicide attempt victims and VAW related victims.
Orientation session on women human rights for school teachers and students.
Develop IEC materials. |
