Social Assistance and Rehabilitation for the Physically Vulnerable, in SARPV-Bangladesh, is a private voluntary social change organisation. It is devoted to set up a framework towards mainstreaming physically challenged communities in particular and children, women and aged people who are marginalized in general in our society. Md. Shahidul Haque who personally is a physically challenged person formed this organisation in 1988 with the support of his few fellow friends who identified with him. Community level work started in 1991 through a response to first-ever relief operation to prevent disabilities and support trauma victims after a devastating cyclone in southern coastal regions of Bangladesh.
SARPV dreams of a society where persons with disabilities can grow to their full potential despite functional and environmental limitations and participate to their full capacity in social activities, and where persons with disabilities enjoy equal rights and opportunities in the mainstream of the society.

1.Strengthen institutional capacity of persons with disabilities to establish them as a change agent 2. Promoting responsiveness of the Government (especial focus on UP) and non-government institutions to ensure adequate and effective supports and services for people with disabilities 3. Building sensitivity of household, community and other civil society people in favor of People with Disabilities’ (PwDs) identity, recognition and dignity

-Improve the access to services for the persons with disabilities. - Leadership capacities of the persons with disabilities increased. - Livelihoods situation of the PwsD increased and self employment created.
