| Brief history of the Organization: |
RACINE was established in 1994 by active social workers to promote socio economic status of poor and disadvantaged population. Major focuses of its interventions is to make aware people about their civic and political rights. Interventions also included economic development of poor people based on right based approach. It has programme on violence against women, women empowerment, human rights and election monitoring. Micro credit programme is addressing poverty issues of target group directly. |
| Project Objective: |
1. To develop bargaining capacity of Unnayan Joddha through increasing regular and effective communications with service providing institutions, especially UPs, for realizing rights & entitlements of poor & disadvantaged people.
2. To establish participative culture in local government activities in 14 Unions and promote good governance & democratic practices along with build capacity of and create scopes for 42 UP Women menbers for prudently paying their roles & taking forward women empowerment issues.
3. To mobilize people’s associations in 14 Unions and 2 Upazilas and civil societies for influencing local institutions and policies in favour of the rights of the poor and marginalized section of society

| Expected Outcome: |
- 4000 Number of targeted people, poor & hard core poor, will get due share by the safety-net schemes
60% of incidence of violence against women & children will be decreased
- 4 standing committee have been formed and active in each of the 14 UPs
- 700 (400+300) number of poor and vulnerable people will represent in public and social institutions like as Co-opt member of UP Standing committee, SMC, Union Disaster Management committee, UnDF,
-300 Number of targeted people will be benefited from the participatory salish and village court system at local level and from UP.
- 50% of targeted people will involved in IGA in deferent trade in Fish Culture, Bio fertilizer production, Mason / Tube well mechanic/ Sanitary materials production, Bio-Gas plant / Solar instillation, Cycle, Rickshaw, Motorcycle, water pump, tractor, etc. Mechanics, Handicrafts, hand stitching, Karchipi, etc and will be benefited from increasing production, cost saving, etc
- 150 Number of targeted people will own/ use government or common resources- khash land, pond/canal,etc. |
