| Brief history of the Organization: |
In 1993 a group of dalit students set up a small Students’ Accession, which was called ‘Parittran’. The meaning of this Bengali word is ‘liberation or Salvation ’
Parittran is a promise and a movement. Parittran wants to assist neglected ethnic out caste groups for their empowerment through participatory way by developing community based people’s institution.
This movement aims at:
1. Eradicating social evils such as caste and untouchability
2. Developing sustainable economic activities
3. Making backward people aware of the ecological problems.

• increase access of Dalits to services with special focus to education.
• intensify the rights movement of dalit community.
• increase capacity and income of Dalits through alternative livelihood.

Dalit issues has turned as a national issue from local form
increased education rate of the dalit community and 45% drop out rate reduced
life status changed of 450 student's family
reduced racial attitude towards dalit community in project areas
take self initiative for alternative livelihood
poverty reduced of 150 families
