Polli Sree is a local Non- Government Organization was established in 1987. Since the inception it has very clean vision to empower opposed and destitute women living in the society. At the beginning stage the approach was provide services but gradually it has shifted to right base approach. In light of this practical realization of Polli Sree begun to organize the distressed women and through survey identified their practical and strategic needs. The organization starts its second phase from July1993.

-Strengthened local formal and informal institutions and at least 50% of the identified incidence of VAW and gender injustice addressed, -At least 25% of the families living within the working areas understood gender discrimination and injustice against women and girls and taking necessary initiatives to reduce. -Ensured 50% of the reported incidences have easy access to justice system (Police, Judiciary and Medico-legal)

•70% of the targeted Community people specially understood how the discrimination and VAW from family to state level excluding women from the mainstream of development process such as from education, leadership, mobility, employment etc. -At least 50% of the educational institutes, adolescent & youth groups, Union Councils of the working area are taking formal and require steps to end gender injustice against women from family, community to state level. -At least 50% of Police Stations, Hospitals and Court of the working area are responsive towards the survivors of VAW. -At least 50% of the targeted community and families are aware about the consequence of domestic violence and decided to change personal attitude and behavioural patter which perpetuate them towards VAW. *Total 10 number of District and Upazilla level alliance formed at Dinajpur, Thakurgoan, Panchagar, Joypurhat, Rangpur with the support of union and ward level individual and institutions who are committed to end VAW also identified VAW as social crime. -At least 50% of the survivors who are reporting to Polli Sree or alliance are getting legal support from existing legal aid service providing agencies such as BNWLA, BLAST,
