| Brief history of the Organization: |
Population Services and Training Center (PSTC) is a non – government and non-profit Organization, registered with the Directorate of Social Welfare in 1994 and NGO Affairs Bureau in 1996. PSTC is an inheriting national organization of Family Planning Services and Training Center (FPSTC), which was created in 1978 following a government order to act as bridge agency between the Government, Donors and local level NGOs working in the FP-MCH field. In June 1997 the Government of Bangladesh assigned PSTC to continue all activities, discharge all responsibilities and role of FPSTC.
PSTC aims at improving the Health, Social Security and Physical living conditions of the poor and socially disadvantaged population of Bangladesh society. It is committed to achieve long-term sustainability through multiplying its sources of funds and charging fees for services consistent to its social commitments. PSTC has several program components, which are: Health Service Delivery, Governance and Rights, HIV/AIDS prevention, Education, Training and Communication, Disaster preparedness and Management Program, Poverty Reduction, Child and Adolescent Development and Environmental Health. |
| Project Objective: |
• Develop support groups in the community to establish rights through increasing responsiveness of health service delivery institutions/providers.
• Enhance knowledge of the community on health rights, especially "Reproductive Rights, Client Charter of Rights and Provider Charter of Rights".
• Change behavior of the service providers so that they can provide quick and timely services to the women and children and the victims of violence against women.
• Develop Client Association to work as advocacy group at Upazila and union level to raise collective voice of the community to establish health rights.
• Influence the policy planners to ensure Client Charter of Rights, Reproductive Rights and provider Charter of Rights in implementation process/project in health sector. |
| Expected Outcome: |
A. Increased awareness on reproductive rights, client & provider charter of rights in the community and the information regarding health, especially reproductive health are available to the people.
B. Develop support groups in the community to establish the community to establish health rights through increasing collective voice of the community to establish health rights.
C. Increase quality and access of the health service delivery institution to response the demand of the clients.
D. Influence the policy planners to ensure Client Charter of Rights, Reproductive Rights and Provider Charter of Rights in implementation process/projects in health sector.

| Project Goal: |
The overall goal of the project is to contribute in creating a social movement to establish health rights of the people of Bangladesh. The purpose of the project is to improve health and family planning (FP) service delivery through recognition and practice of health rights by the clients and service providers. |
