| Brief history of the Organization: |
People’s Oriented Program Implementation (POPI) started its journey from Bhairab, one of the remote Upazilas of Kishoreganj District in the year 1986. Starting in small scale gradually by dint of sincere efforts POPI within one decade entered into mainstream of NGO development activities.
Since inception in the 1986 POPI covers the poor, marginalized, extreme poor and excluded people from development mainstreaming population. Approximately 1.5 million people in 98 Upazilas of 16 Districts throughout North, central, North-East and Southern part of Bangladesh. The total human resources strength is 1697 consisting of 61 top managerial skills employees with 15 technical experts in the area of health, agriculture, livestock and participatory planning, management and monitoring.
POPI envisage a ‘prudent nation that free from hunger and poverty where every citizen will lead a life with dignity and equality” and the mission is to work with the poor and extreme poor /(the Most Marginalized Citizens-MMC) and believes cooperation and coordination among the development activists in government, civil society and NGOs for real development of the deprived in utilizing resources properly. It also tries to building capacity of the stakeholders for sustainability of the program using people’s organization.

| Project Objective: |
i. To reduce domestic violence against the poor and extreme poor women through organizing them in raising strong voice from
people’s platform.
ii. To develop awareness and create opportunities for earning knowledge by adolescent girls about DV and capacity in reducing that.
iii. To develop linkages on Alternative Livelihood Opportunities (ALO) for victim and women vulnerable to DV
iv. To develop partnership between people, LG body and like minded social groups for joint efforts in reducing DVAW strengthened

| Expected Outcome: |
Major outcome of the project is expected that DVAW and discrimination against the poor and extreme poor women at project area will reduce by 50% from base status. Moreover social groups and elected bodies will be strong and united to act as effective social force to prevent DVAW and to create poor women friendly social environment. |
| Project Goal: |
Poor and Extreme Poor women of the target areas leads a Domestic Violence (DV) free society and better life with Alternative Livelihood Opportunities. |
| Major Activity: |
Identifying target women and Organizing them into Primary Target Groups (240 group).
Establish KSK Centres for adolescent girls to provide them earning education create awareness and help them to build up themselves as a future mother.
Policy and system promotion for Alternative Livelihood Opportunities (ALO) for the poor and Extreme Poor women and make Linkage with Microfinance program of POPI or other MF Organization.
Formation of Peoples platform, capacity strengthens and sensitised to CBO, LG body, civil society, media etc. and united them for raising strong Voice against DVAW. |
