| Brief history of the Organization: |
Established in 1980, PIACT Bangladesh is a non-profit, non-governmental organization committed to the welfare of the people of Bangladesh through resolute and concreted efforts in reproductive health, education and training, nutrition services, prevention and protection against HIV/AIDS/STD, human rights ,poverty alleviation of disadvantaged women and children. It also addresses the emerging needs of social development over time in collaboration with Government and other Non- government organizations.

| Project Objective: |
i) To reduce the level of oppression, exploitation, violence and discrimination against SWs in respect of financial, physical, environmental and social aspects.
ii) To strengthen and functional the mechanism for protection of minor girls in entering into sex business.
iii) To enhance access of SWs and their children to mainstream opportunities (i.e. health care facilities; education of their children in formal school; water and sanitation and food rationing, etc).

| Expected Outcome: |
1. 80% of SWs got free from physical harassment and violence2. Organization owned and run by SWs in Daulodia brothel is fully active to work on human rights of SWs.
2. 70% new minor girl rescued & protected entering into sex business
3.10 % existing minor girls rescued and referred in different rehabilitation centers ( i.e. ACSR, shishu palli plus and other centers)
4.Health hazard reduced 75% to 50% by accessing to the public and private hospitals
5.Children enrollment in school increased from 70 % to 80 %

| Major Activity: |
Enhancing capacity of the executive committee of SHG in organizational and financial management will be developed through certain activities
Organize right-based awareness raising and life skill development education of the common sex workers
Holding seminar at national level for the protection of under age sex workers in sex business
Strengthening and functioning the mechanism for protection of minor girls who are trafficked into the brothel for sex business from outside |
