Nobolok started working in 1990 . From the beginning Nobolok focuses on people's organisation, capacity building and it has rejected welfarist approach. There are total nine projects managed by Nobolok and these are on different issues such as health and sanitation, nutrition, environment, accessibility to common resources, micro credit etc. Nobolok implemented Unicef funded hard to reach working children programme and it has mainly focused on non formal education. The proposed project's idea was derived from implementing experiences of CARE supported Shahar project in Tongi pourashava.

Goal Creating conducive environment for working children in Tongi and gradually withdrawing them from work place through schooling and better income earning opportunities for parents and adult children. Objectives To improve livelihood and alternative better employment through vocational training and sensitizing 900 children below 14 aged group and 1100 children between 14-18 aged groups and their parents To ensure effective roles of CSOs, employers, media, 30 service providing agencies within Tongi for protecting interest of 2000 working children at semi formal industries of Tongi Pourashava

Cent persent targeted children received informal education and 5% of the group aged below 14 years enrolled in mainstream education. Increased accessibility of targeted children to rpivate clinic, public health services Enrolled 40% of targeted children into schools through withdrawing them from work place and 5% of their parents will receive vocational trianing for alternative income. Increased wage of 30% working children receiving income below taka 2000 Improved working environment of 50% targeted work unit in terms of working hour, water sanitation, risk free gadgets and recreation.
