MOANOGHAR was established in 1974 and it was registered from NGO bureau in the year 1980. Moanoghar is a Chakma word which means ‘hill home’, and for the last 27 years it become the shelter of , thousand of orphans from across the indigenous community. Basically the organization worked with the children who are affected by the ethnic tension of Chittagong Hill Tracts. Its not only shelter for orphans, but it also shelter for the children whom are separated from their parents.

• To develop a child sponsorship program linking the poor children to the privileged community for ensuring their education • Strengthening the livelihood security of Moanoghar Children through proper utilization of Moanoghar resources and diverse income generation • Life skill development of Moanoghar children with market linkage

o A sponsorship system for 600 children introduced, maintained and fully functional with special computer software developed. o Minimum 200 sponsors (individuals or organizations) collected for Moanoghar children at the end of the project o Moanoghar website (www.moanoghar.org) launched and regularly maintained and updated o Sponsors’ network developed and functional o Seasonal vegetables grown at Moanoghar by the children and used for domestic consumption with surplus (if any) sold at commercial rate in the market o Fishery project launched at Moanoghar pond to reduce huge cost o Various income generating projects (Aloe Vera, honey, livestock, weaving, sewing, etc) launched and these projects are generating incomes for Moanoghar.
