| Brief history of the Organization: |
Mamata was established in the year 1983 with initiative and drive of a group of dedicated social workers of the Chittagong city to ensure Health, Family welfare services, poverty alleviation, socio-economic development, gender and establishment of human rights. Mamata believes that family is the focal point of social up-liftment and it attaches top priority on capacity building towards better livelihood and poor and disadvantage segment of population.
Mamata initially started its activities on Health and Family Welfare sector with the financial assistance and technical supported of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOSFW) and International Donors. To attain its vision, Mamata has gradually expanded its activities in multi-sectoral dimension in addition of Health and Family Welfare. It has establishment its activities on sound footing in the field of Micro Finance, non-formal education, Women development, Pure drinking Water and Sanitation, HIV/AIDS Prevention, Programs on Adolescent, Youth and Child and Advocacy on Human Rights and Rights based activities especially for working women and children.

| Project Objective: |
(i) The Stakeholders Will Be Sensitized And The Target group will be aware to get to better wages, working condition and avail the
their rights.
(ii) Improved personal health, hygiene, environment and living condition of the target group in Factory and Community Level.
(iii) Inform, educate and aware members of WRWC and Potential Workers regarding their positive roles and responsibility in “EPZ
Trade Union and Industrial Relation Bill 2004”.

| Expected Outcome: |
1. Factory owners and HRD are sensitized on Compliance Issues, Safety Measures and Day Care Centers in factories of CEPZ and
out side of CEPZ.
2. Women workers are in a better position in getting appointment letters, leaves, maternity leave and facilities for exclusive Brest
feeding, minimum wages and overtime.
3. Factory workers are living at community level with better dignity, honour and safety.
4. Rate of early marriage decreased and rate of marriage registration improved.
5. The Personal and Environment Health and Hygiene of the women workers and members of their families improved.
6. Rate of violence & victimization of Women Workers in the working place & residence level reduced.
7. Status of medical Aid & legal Aid for victimized women workers improved
8. Female workers Husband / Caretakers involved in IGA.
9. WRWC play positive role for formation of Trade Union under “EPZ Trade Union and Industrial Relation Bill 2004”.

Awareness Sessions
Awareness Session Will be conducted with the women workers on the following subjects:
a. Early Marriage & Marriage Registration
b. Compliance
c. Appointment Letter
d. Working Hours & Over time
e. Maternity Leave & Day Care Center Facilities
f. Safety Measures, Health Facility & Factories Hygiene
g. Personal and Environmental health and hygiene.
h. Prevention of HIV/AIDS, Safer Sex and Condom Promotion
Awareness Session will be conducted at:
a. Factory Level
b. D IC level,
c. Community Level
Advocacy:
Advocacy with BEPZA, BGMEA, LPDC Members, House Owners, Factory owners, Elected Representative.
Subject of Advocacy:
i. Labour Laws, Minimum Wages and other facilities for Women workers.
ii. Maternity Leave and other facilities during Pregnancy period of the women workers.
iii. Day care center with the facilities of exclusive Brest feeding for the children of the women workers.
iv. Violence & victimization against women focusing factory workers.
v. Development of the positive attitude of all concerned towards “EPZ Trade Union and Industrial Relation Bill 2004”.
vi. Improved livelihood & living condition, Personal & Environmental hygiene of the women workers

Training for Staff, Peers WRWC members and Potential Workers on the following areas:
i. EPZ Trade Union & Labour Laws.
ii. Gender, Human Rights & Women Rights.
