| Brief history of the Organization: |
The Gram Unnayon Sangathon (GRAUS) – Organization for Rural Socio-economic Development – began its journey in 1998 with its headquarters in Bandarban, in the southern hill district of Bangladesh.
It has been working among the disadvantaged and underprivileged section of the people of the district, irrespective of race and religion, especially among the deprived section of the indigenous people’s community.
GRAUS is a non-profit and non-political socio-economic organization committed to the development of the region through eco-friendly measures for the sustainability of the local environment. It is committed to the needs-based development of the indigenous way of life and the betterment of the living conditions and local environment in par with the modern pace of development.
Since 1998 GRAUS has been engaged in dedicated service to the local community, working for the poverty alleviation of the underprivileged section of the people. During the last seven years GRAUS have undertaken some development projects with good results that will be dealt with later on.
The number of beneficiaries, the area of geographical coverage, the overall increase in manpower, and the acceptance among those with whom GRAUS has been working - they all show the rate of progress GRAUS has achieved in such a short time.

Specific objective - 1: Community people’s rights acknowledged and opportunities created to participate in the education management system.
Specific objective - 2: CHT Children’s rights to effective, quality and relevant education process recognized.
Specific objective -3: Accountability and good education governing system institutionalized through capacity building and necessary out-reach of relevant stakeholders.

- Community aware and motivated about needs of their participation in the education process and management ensuring their children rights to education
- Community acquired relevant skills and information required establishing their rights to education
- A positive environment created for sharing and extend cooperation’s among teachers and parents improving opportunities children’s education
- A positive movement by local youth for the education of their next generations
- Community aware about the relevancies and qualities of the children education process and arrangement
- Girls children enrollment to school and successful accomplishments increased
- Women participation and efficiency in education management and strategically decisions increased
- Children enrollment increased in the schools and drop out decreased as well
- Language no more a barrier for interacting in the classroom that help children achieving competencies
- Teacher’s ability to manage multi lingual context

Awareness training package relevant to community participation in education management develop and implementation
- Initiate for and activate Teachers Parents Forum
- Initiate and activate youth forum through organizing and building awareness by training workshop to participate in the basic education movement
- Activate School management committee and train and motivate them
- Joint monitoring by community and other immediate stakeholders to get practical experiences of the education relevancies
- Ensure representation of communities in the education strategy and policy dialogues
- Activate of and organize Mothers group to ensure active participation in children education management
- Arranging workshop, meeting, seminars on children education achievements and opportunities
