Project Title: Rural Social Education Project and development of human rights awareness in the Chars of the Jumna

Brief history of the Organization:
Friendship is a value-based organization, founded in 1998. Friendship addressed need-based health and development issues covering all segments of society, with special focus to help the marginalized segments of the population, to reach them, through health care, the area identified as that of maximum suffering.
Project Objective:
1. Poor people access to the existing government and non-government services (Health, Education, Health and Family Planning, Legal Aids, Agriculture and Livestock, Capital etc) increased through making better governance situation. 2. Institutionalizing CDCs at different levels so that they can play proactive role in demanding /claming their entitlements. 3. Promoting economic viability of targeted people through skill development activities.
Expected Outcome:
-9000 Poor char dwellers are getting access to the services (Health, Education, Health and Family Planning, Women affairs, Agriculture and Livestock, livelihood). -15 CDC became more active. -15 CDC members are capable to organize meeting with UP and other government institutions. -Total 9000 number of population will be covered through different events for creating enable environment of service access. -1500 Beneficiaries become economically viable position. -1500 beneficiaries’ economical situation uplifted. -150 Char dwellers are aware with alternative income generation programs.
Project Goal: Improved livelihood security (especially health, education and income) of char dwellers in Gaibandha and Kurigram.
Major Activity: Organize different events for campaign, advocacy, sensitization throughout the project duration in the means of workshop, dialogue, seminar, small group meetings.

Facilitate for referral creation with service provider’s institutions (health, education, capital support, legal aid etc)

Organize small group meetings for increasing rights awareness on rights & entitlements. (Health, Education, Legal rights, Family planning, Fisheries and Livestock, Water and Sanitation, Women and Children Affairs, Social Safety.)

Facilitating the process of community score card for governance performance monitoring.
