Brief history of the Organization:
EC Bangladesh is a non-profit and non-political voluntary organization was dreamed to establish in December 21, 1991 by some change seeking young student to protect environment of the country and to empower people to meet their basic needs for a sound and sustainable future. The NGO EC Bangladesh was legalized on 28th February 1994 through the registration with Social welfare Department and 28th June 1995 registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau Government of Bangladesh. After ending the educational & training part of the founderˇ¦s member commenced its activities in 1998.
Project Objective:
-To strengthen the Fishermen federation of Gazaria to bargain for equal access to the open water bodies, natural resources and contribute to resolving conflicts -To improve access to quality Health services, Education, Water, Sanitation & Other support services related to fishing activities -To enhance additional income options for fishers households through access to financial and occupational opportunities
Expected Outcome:
-The Fishers Federation Strengthens and Initiates for Solving Conflicts -Vertical Networking strengthens among the Organized Fisher Communities -Civil Society Aware and take initiatives for Protecting the Rights of the Target Communities -Government and Non Government Agencies are More responsive for the Needs of the Target Communities -Fishersˇ¦ Access for Improved Health, Education, Water, Sanitation & Other support services related to fishing activities -Livelihood Security Opportunities for the Target People Improved through additional income options
