| Brief history of the Organization: |
Durjoy Nari Shangha (DNS) has emerged as a sex workers' organization comprising of street based sex workers in Dhaka city in February 1998. DNS vision: a world having equal dignity and status of sex workers and their children. It's mission is to establish fundamental rights, legal recognition of sex work profession, rescue and protection of sex workers and their children from harassment, abuse and creating opportunities, options for alternative livelihood. DNS has been registered with the Department of Women Affairs and NGO Affairs Bureaue. |

2. Improving sex workers accessibility to public and private services.
3. Measurable reduction of oppression, exploitation, violence and discrimination against sex workers. |

-Prevented/reduced under aged new sex workers to this profession.
-Low incoming sex workers covered by the government safety net program.
-Sex workers' children enrolled in school.
-Sex workers' children obtained scope for social rehabilitation (e.g. shelter, like skill education, alternate options for positive living)
-Access created to health institutions
-Reduced the rate of arrest by police.
-Sex workers' children's identity by the name of their mothers in practice.
