Brief history of the Organization:
Centre for Services and Information on Disability (CSID) is a registered Charity Trust established in December 1997 and registered with the NGO Affaires Bureau (Registration # 1322, dated 15.12.1999). CSID is the sitting President of National Forum of Organizations Working with the Disabled (NFOWD) a Networking and Coordinating body of over 250 organizations and member of “National Coordination Committee” for the development of People with Disabilities formed by the Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of Bangladesh. The vision of CSID is: “An inclusive society where People with Disabilities are living with equal rights, opportunities, access and dignity in comparison to other citizens of the country”.

Project Objective:
To create an enabling environment for the street slum children with disability so that they can enjoy the basic social service, i.e. education, health and job placement
Expected Outcome:
-Government, community, family members and other stakeholders are more responsive to protect rights of street, working and slum children with disabilities. -Street, working and slum children with disabilities are enjoying better quality of life. -Government, Community, Family and Civil Society have become more responsible towards rights of the children with disabilities. -Children have been capacitated to claim their rights.
Project Goal: The “Street, Working and Slum Children with Disabilities” of Sylhet City are included in the mainstream society with equal rights, opportunities and dignity.
Major Activity: -Identification of Street, Working and Slum Children with Disabilities, problem analyzing and individual need assessment; Creating a favourable and friendly environment through sensitizing different stakeholders; Formation, capacity building and activating Self-Advocacy Group

-Referral for special treatment; Providing Aids and appliance,;

-Capacity build up and Facilitate children having employment and initiate self-employment activities.

-Forming Community Disability Development Committee (CDDC)
