Project Title: Integrated Approach for Combating HIV/AIDS focusing on Empowering the MSM Community to Guarantee Human RIghts

Brief history of the Organization:
BSWS is a National Community Based NGO that has been working on improving sexual health of Male having sex with male (MSM) since 1996. Services are being provided through seven Field Offices in six major parts of Bangladesh namely Dhaka, Chittagong, Sylhet, Mymensingh, Comilla and Rajbari. BSWS has been providing services to the population through three integrated units i.e. Prevention and Care Unit, Training Unit, Advocacy, Research & Communication Unit.
Project Objective:
• Modification of the current advocacy strategy through the identified needs of the beneficiaries • Increased awareness on Human Rights among target group/beneficiaries • Local Elected Bodies (LEBs), Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs), physicians and counselors sensitized through workshops at targeted cities • Initiate dialogue with relevant authorities towards discriminatory laws/policies
Expected Outcome:
-An effective advocacy strategy for MSM intervention developed -A human rights training manuals for MSM developed -Knowledge on HIV/AIDS and basic human rights increased amongst MSW/MSM -Linkage developed with the vocational training organizations for creating access to those skill -A database developed on human rights issues and collaboration strengthened with legal service provider organizations.
Project Goal: To improve the self-esteem of MSM especially MSW by mainstreaming their human rights thus enhancing social justice.
Major Activity: Review the current advocacy strategy and modify by integrating findings from need assessment.

Provide basic training on human rights and fundamental rights to targeted population

Develop linkages with vocational training organizations to enhance vocational skill for alternate liveihood opportunities

Organize/facilitate sensitization meeting, workshop, dialogue with different related stakeholders.
