| Brief history of the Organization: |
Bangladesh National Woman Lawyers' Association (BNWLA) is one of the pioneer human rights organizations. Its mission is to "Enable women to become self-reliant, conscious of their rights and productive members of society founded on justice". The association was formed in 1979 through the committed efforts of some of the most prominent women lawyers of Bangladesh. Activities include: providing legal aid, carrying out research for necessary reforms in the existing laws, lobbying with different authorities working for the betterment of women and children, investigating cases of VAW , acting as a pressure group and carrying out different activities for the rehabilitation of survivors of different forms of violence. |
| Project Objective: |
-Influencing state's policy levels for enactment of the Draft Law on Domestic Violence.
-To improve access to information on issues related to Domestic Violence.
-Mobilizing local level organizations to be more concern and responsive to the needs of the women and children.
-Sensitize community people to take more pro-active role in combating Domestic Violence. |

| Project Goal: |
The prime goal of the project is to conduct effective advocacy on issues related to Domestic Violence with a view to curve the violence against women and children. |

Policy advocacy for setting up Infrastructure along with Legislation to address Domestic Violence.
Raising voices against Domestic Violence through Mass Media.
Creating change agents to addressing Domestic Violence.
Publication and dissemination of IEC materials. |
