BCWS- Bangladesh Center for Workers Solidarity- an organization established in August 2000 by a group of persons repressed and exploited for establishing workers rights. It is a non-profit, non-political organization working for empowerment of the working women workers and their family & community to become self reliant and secured at workplace. BCWS is for establishing, negotiating, power, gender equity & social justice for the working class.

BCWS an activities organization was registered with the Social Welfare Department, Ministry of Social Welfare and also registered by the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh. For establishing the right of workers and working women, BCWS supports and promotes activism. The initiatives are eventually taken for implementation. BCWS believes that activism can positively change the situation in an accelerated pace.

Since it’s inception, it has started some programs for establishing working women’s right in the society. BCWS working for the cause of women works of garments and informal sector, for the vagabond, shelter less and distressed. At present, the activities of the organization have been increased ridiculously. The organization helps to establish the civil & labor rights of the women workers of garments & other sectors by imparting training to make them aware of their rights and bringing suits against the employers before the court. The education rate of the women workers is still vulnerable. Due to lack of proper education, they are not in a position to know about their rights and privilege. It is immensely important for them to know & be aware of their rights and privileges.

As well as BCWS also have a strong voice all kind of violence against of children. BCWS have some activities to improve children life and living condition.

The main goal of BCWS is to implement the workers rights, specially women and children right in totality through achieving gender equality, enhancing the status of women workers, and protecting human rights of women and children. Ensuring women workers participation in the mainstream of development and bargaining.
