| Brief history of the Organization: |
AUK was established on 10th May 1998 with a view to providing leverage to the indigenous people of the CHT in their efforts to improve their lot. The CIPD also aspires to exploit the favorable condition that came flowing in the wake of the CHT accord to bring about a positive change in the quality of the indigenous life-style of the CHT. |
| Project Objective: |
1.To raise capacity of poor Jumia community for proper management of sustainable food supply and IGA to the poorest for livelihood.
2.To collect, preserve and practice of rarely lost cultural heritage of Jumia community
2. Ensuring the involvement of GO-NGO service providers for improvement in access to local resources. |
| Expected Outcome: |
i. 220 GSK members have been trained on leadership, human right & gender with a view to create strong leadership in the community.
11 RBs have been maintained properly and 110 ton rice distributed to poorest Jum cultivators.
825 community people have been trained on IGA & 275 mothers on health & nutrition for their better livelihood.
A catalogue on crafts, dress, and ornaments of ethnic community has been printed & published for giving a idea on the colorful tradition of ethnic community.
Indigenous songs, crafts, sports have been practiced through cultural function and exhibited in the Bizu mela.
Community people have been awarded in preserving own culture and practiced.
Technical and input support forms GoB line department have been increased through IGA training.
Local institution & NGO support increased to improve community livelihood.
Linkage between local leaders and GoB officers has been developed.

| Major Activity: |
Formation of Village Protaction Committee (Gram Surakkha Committee) to work as watch dog of development activities of different stakeholders
Training on Village Protaction Committee (Gram Surakkha Committee) about advocacy, citizen rights, women rights, child rights/sustainable development, water sanitation and Hygiene
Village Protaction Committee (Gram Surakkha Comittee) organize visit of CHT Regional Council, Rangamati Hill District Council, Upazilla Administration, Upozilla Agriculture Officer and Forest officers for arrange of government service at village level
1.Formation of Gram Surakkha Kamity (GSK) for creating local leadership.
2.Training for capacity building and IGA on livelihood,
3.Day observation for awareness building
4.Traditional Cultural exhibition & Preservation,
5.Establishment of Rice Bank (RB) for food security.
