| Brief history of the Organization: |
Anirban Samaj Unnyan Sangstha (ASUS) is a non-government organization established in 1995. ASUS is the joint effort of a few local self-devoted young men, women & social workers from various academic disciplines.
From the begining it started development work with the rights deprived women & poor people through socio-economic programs. For improving socio-economic status of rural vulnerable and underprivileged poor people. ASUS implementing development interventions in Patuakhali district.ASUS implementing women empowerment & development programs with support of MJF,STEPS Towards Development, Madaripur Legal Aid etc. |
| Project Objective: |
-To enhance ability of women and children in claming rights initiatives with coordinated way to establish violence free family;
-To mobilize community people and local level organizations in taking more proactive roles to combat domestic violence;
-To make responsive of service providing institutions in providing better services to survivors of gender based violence.

| Expected Outcome: |
- • Reduced 60% domestic violence in the project area.
• Organized women group members are well aware of their legal rights and are raising their voice at the family and community level.
• Vulnerable women and children of project areas are better informed on cabinet approved Domestic Violence(Prevention & protection ) Bill-2010
• 60% Women are avail to articulate their rights
• Children improved their awareness on rights and domestic violence issues.
• Capacity of the Domestic Violence Prevention Committee (DVPC) enhanced significantly to prevent domestic violence and active in the community to combat domestic violence.
• Community people are more responsive in combating domestic violence
• Targeted beneficiaries are organized to deal with rights violation at domestic sphere
• Most of the NNPC are functional and taking active part in reducing domestic violence issues
• At least 50% service providers are available and supportive towards targeted beneficiaries and violence victims in providing services.
• Targeted beneficiaries are enjoying: 40% access to health, 30% legal aid support and 40% safety net.
• Increased utilization of government legal aid fund for the violence victims

Measurable reduction of gender based violence at domestic sphere in shaping secured life

| Major Activity: |
* Family Dispute Resolution and Stop DVAW:
Women group will mitigate the family dispute among their para and village. At the same time they will monitor and identify the families where the dispute happened continuously. They will also concern to stop or protect about marriage with dowry, early marriage, and polygamy or relevant problems or issues.
*Stop Domestic violence through Salish or Village Court:
Domestic Violence Prevention Committee (DVPC) and NNPC will mitigate the family dispute among their village and union. At the same time they will monitor and identify the families where the dispute happened continuously. They will also concern to stop or protect about marriage with dowry, early marriage, and polygamy or relevant problems or issues. They can also refer the cases to the village court.
* Develop School based Volunteer Group to Prevent & Protect DVAW related issues:
Develop class wise volunteer group among the school students. They will aware about their rights and responsibilities and aware on the DVAW issues. They will take initiative and action against early marriage, sexual harassment, family conflict, dowry etc. Firstly they will take action if they will not able they seeking support from different local group and staff of the project.
*Spouse forum meeting
Based on project 1st phase experiences and need spouse forum will be formed in targeted 52 villages. Regular four monthly meeting will be organized in the respective areas. The meeting will raised awareness and change the attitude of the spouse towards their wife and other females. As a result they will be able to take active role against domestic violence prevention process.
* Build up linkage with Community people and Service Providing Institutions:
Project will aware the people about their rights and facilities which they can claim towards the service providing agencies/institutions and the responsibilities of the service provider institutions. Finally build up a relationship with the both parties for getting better service and support.
