Brief history of the Organization:
Ananaya Kallayan Sanghathon (AKS) is a hilly tribal/aborigine local woman led development organization. It was established in May, 1997 with the initiation of a group of hilly aborigine women social workers with am aim to promote the socio-economic and cultural status of the aborigine poor and vulnerable people, emphasizing the women and children through sensitization, capacity building and capital formation programs by adopting modern scientific technologies.

Despite of limited resources and number of major challenges in the context of Chittagong Hill Tracts, with an objective of stopping violence against girls and women through local initiatives so that it better functions for the fulfillment of women’s basic human rights and reduce gender discrimination, since 1999 AKS has been strategically dealing with women and local indigenous people’s rights based issues through implementation different programs. Based on local community demand AKS tries to implement its programs through an integrated development approach and links other actors in the process to improve the gender and livelihood situation and empowerment process among the local community people of Bandarban Hill Tracts.
Project Objective:
1.Aware and enable the local community people to access their basic human rights. 2.Arrange IGA activity with the women club group members for improvement of their livelihood situation, which will help to establish social harmony among the beneficiaries of the project area. 3.Improve social harmony among the local community people of both indigenous and non-indigenous by forming Social Harmony Watch group.
Expected Outcome:
1.Understanding and awareness will be building up among 7153 community people on basic human rights, local governance system which will decrease human rights violation at village union and Upazila level. 2.The livelihood condition and awareness is improved among the Human Rights Defender Groups (HRDG) where 120 Women Clubs’ member and Self Help Groups 720 members through accessing rights to services. 3.Mutual confidence and social harmony among the indigenous and non- indigenous communities is improved.
Project Goal: Sustaining social harmony through education action generation on human rights violation and livelihood improvement in two selected upazilas of Bandarban district.
Major Activity: Organize women and community group (Bangali and Adibashi group) for social harmony and arrange training on human rights, local governance and rights to access services provided by GOB and NGO’s

Organize training on agro base agriculture, animal husbandry support for 30 villages (each villages 10 family).

Formation of social harmony watch group and organize peace rally and arrange meeting on importance of social harmony.
