| Brief history of the Organization: |
AID is local NGO established in 1992 in Jenaidah with a view to assist poor meritorious students and disadvantaged people. At present AID is mainly working with rights of poor farmers, workers and women. It also deals with local governance and environmental issues. |
| Project Objective: |
To establish good governance through increasing the accountability of the government service agencies and to ensure the livelihoods and economic security of the farmers by making their accessibility to the government services and technical facilities.
Specific Objectives:
• To assist the farmers in developing their leadership for building cooperative based organizations and establish their rights.
• To ensure all sorts of information flows related to the interest of the vegetable producing farmers and just entitlement allocated by the state.
• To make diligent the research institutes, government agricultural agencies and local government & administration for meeting the necessary demands of the vegetable producing farmers as well as for bringing out them from the dominance of the middlemen.
• To develop a partnership based relation of the farmers with civil society, government and administration to turn the organic agriculture to a social movement and to increase their accessibility to the international market. |
| Expected Outcome: |
• For ensuring the services of the government agencies, an effective roles as the pressure group by the farmers of the south-western part of the country played in united way;
• Direct relation of the farmers with the agricultural service providing government agencies developed;
• In fighting against the adulterant fertilizer, pesticides and seed selling agencies, enough legal aid services for the farmers ensured and roles as the pressure group played;
• Human health and natural environment protected and poverty of the farmers reduced through producing and exporting organic vegetable in high price and production cost reduced;
• Public opinion against agriculture and farmer hostile unethical policies organized and farmers’ interest protected and
• Poor farmer oriented, accountable and good governance system operational in DAE, BARI, BADC and agricultural credit providing institutions.

To create a dignified livelihood friendly environment for the farmers through enhancing their capacity and skills in establishing their rights |
| Major Activity: |
1. Selecting intensive vegetable cultivation area and vegetable producing farmers
2. Conducting baseline survey
3. Formation of groups, associations and federations of the vegetable producing farmers
4. Arranging regular participatory discussion with the farmers
5. Imparting both rights based & technical training to the farmers and arrange regular/fortnightly technical session
6. Establishing Chashi Club
7. Establishing demonstration plots of organic vegetable
8. Organizing exposure visit
9. Establishing community based information centers on agricultural technologies, services and market of agricultural products
10. Organizing farmers’ field day
11. Organizing vegetable fair
12. Publishing and distributing people perceivable and informative leaflet, poster, booklet and newsletter (Krishi Tathaya)
13. Setting up bill board
14. Performing popular song & theatre and making & display on spot video film
15. Formation of rights watch group at different levels
