Brief history of the Organization:
Since its beginnings in 1995 in Kushtia, ADD Bangladesh has evolved now to supporting disability organisations to be campaigners for change and advocates for their rights. ADD’s strategy is to develop independent and sustainable self-help groups and phase out from that area gradually and work with them in partnership. Experience has proved that changing attitudes, laws and social policy and norms has a more profound and long-term impact on the lives of disabled and marginalized people than by supporting individuals. Thus a longer term and more sustainable rights-based approach is promoted by ADD.
